Does anyone have any opinions on which of the following two covers, the brown one or the green one, would better represent my new historical mythology on the town in which I live, Grand Haven, Michigan?
Any other comments, I’d also appreciate. The 20-chapter, 220 page novel depicts a brief visit of 15 historical figures associated with the town, each to share a message with the main character, who is in his last days, reflecting back on having lived, worked, and raised a family in the community.
Grand Haven is an exquisite lakeshore jewel with a fabulous history and great civic culture. I wanted to learn more about how its history shaped its culture and what that history and culture have meant to me. Here are the back covers of the two options. I’m the figure on the pier between the two ships in the green back cover:
Thanks, all. Enjoy your own town. Learn more of its history so that you understand more of its culture and its needs.
I like them both, but if you twisted my arm, I think the brown feels more "historical." Perhaps I'm being influenced by our nation's adoption of brown for park signage, etc., but that's the feeling it invokes for me. The topic is interesting and relevant for me, and I like knowing local history. Good luck!
I'm not sure, but I think I like the brown one better considering your topic. Also, I like the back cover on the brown one better. The green back cover doesn't give me an idea that your book might be about a mythology. I do like the premise of your book. Could you tell us some of the historical figures included in the book?
